Milk is full of protein, everyone knows that. There are several different types of protein, milk is made up predominately of casein protein, which dissolves slowly over several hours in the body.
Eczema is caused by your immune system acting upon itself. When it thinks a “bad guy” is coming, eczema is likely the result. If you are allergic to milk, or more specifically casein that is found in milk, your immune system could be pumping out eczema to save yourself.
I can only speculate as to the cause of your eczema in particular, everyone is different. Your best bet is to go a week dodging milk, cheese, butter… any dairy products. See if you have any new eczema lesions pop up and see how your existing lesions are doing.
There are millions, possibly billions around the world that are allergic to milk, eczema is just one of the serious side effects.
New research has found a link between milk and eczema, go without dairy for the foreseeable future and gage where you are in a week, it does not hurt to try!
